You'll serve as the technical lead for a portfolio of nonprofit research organizations, helping them design and implement cloud architectures that advance science at scale.<br/><br/>This role sits within a sales and business development team — your technical expertise will directly inform planning and strategy. You'll need both the consultative and leadership skills to launch projects on a trajectory to success, and the ability to help diverse groups understand application architectures and integration approaches.<br/><br/>What We're Looking For<br/><br/>Someone who is passionate about helping nonprofits achieve their missions through technology. You bring:<br/><br/>- Consultative skills — the ability to listen, understand customer needs, and translate them into technical solutions<br/>- Technical leadership — comfort guiding architectural design decisions and deep-diving into implementation details<br/>- Intellectual curiosity — a drive to keep your technical skills current while maintaining a pulse on industry trends<br/>- Communication skills — experience presenting to small and large groups, from whiteboard sessions to executive briefings<br/> - Operational awareness — understanding of web site/services operations, management, and security<br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>- Own the technical engagement and success of customer implementation projects<br/>- Design cloud architectures leveraging AWS services <br/>- Provide thought leadership on security best practices for applications, servers, and networks<br/>- Respond to RFPs and define implementation approaches<br/>- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services<br/>- Lead whiteboard sessions, technical deep-dives, and presentations for audiences of all sizes<br/>- Capture and share best practices across the SA community<br/>- Collaborate with and learn from some of the brightest technical minds in enterprise architecture<br/>- Mentor peers and customers while staying current on AWS innovations and industry trends<br/>- Travel up to 30%<br/><br/><br/>A day in the life<br/>You'll provide architectural and technical leadership to nonprofit customers leveraging AWS at scale. You'll guide design decisions with customer obsession, ensuring high availability and performance. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
